LocalGovU Offers Law Enforcement and Corrections Training Package

Overland Park, KS - The current economic crisis has significantly reduced city and county government budgets. These cuts have severely reduced or eliminated training budgets for law enforcement and corrections departments, causing concern amongst officers and departments as to how they will maintain continuing education units required of all department staff.
“We’re hearing from a lot of departments who don’t know how they will be able to afford the training that’s required for their officers this year. In some cases, officers will have to pay for their own training, which can be a major financial burden,” says Sharon Holt, LocalGovU’s Director of E-Learning.
In response, LocalGovU has created a special training package to help whole departments or individual officers afford LocalGovU’s POST (or equivalent) training curriculum for only $100 per officer. “No officer should have to worry about losing his or her badge because of the cost of training,” says Tony Green, account manager for LocalGovU. “I’m talking to officers every day who are worried about losing their badges. We can’t have that. We knew we had to do something to help.”
LocalGovU’s courses are approved by Maryland MPCTC, Minnesota POST, Mississippi POST, Missouri POST, Nevada POST, New Mexico POST, and South Carolina CLEE. The curriculum is also recognized by Kansas CPOST and KLETC, Nebraska POST, and Texas TCLEOSE.
