Welcome to the VMLIP Public Safety Academy!
VML Insurance Programs (VMLIP) is pleased to provide a comprehensive web-based training solution to our members at no additional cost.
The Law Enforcement Academy is available to members purchasing law enforcement liability coverage. The training courses usually run from one to two hours. At the end of each course, there will be a quiz to assess the participant’s understanding of the information provided. The library includes courses approved for Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) in-service credit and can be used to meet annual training requirements. The Fire/EMS Academy is designed for members of the Fire/EMS community. The online courses usually run from one to two hours. At the end of each course, there will be a quiz to assess the participant’s understanding of the information provided. View available fire/EMS courses here.
How to Access the Training
Access has already been granted for existing members and account holders. To start taking courses, select the “Sign In” button below to log into your existing user account.
Need to Register? If you do not have an account already established for your yourself or your department, you may request access to the VMLIP Public Safety Academy by selecting the “register” button below. Requests for training access will be granted once your account has been verified, usually within 24 to 48 hours. A LocalGovU Customer Success representative will reach out to connect once your account has been verified.
Adding Users: LocalGovU can also assist with registering all users in your department at one time using the VMLIP Public Safety Academy User Upload Template. Download the form here, input each user’s information, and email the completed form to LocalGovU at firstname.lastname@example.org for processing. Courses will be made available to all members listed, and account administrators will have access to features to create assignments, run reports, and more!
